Bring on Purdue

Great win against Michigan State. This is a kind of win that will come in handy in the tournament. Everyone gelled with their backs against the wall. Maybe this is what the team needs. Us against the whole f'n world!

Bring on Purdue!

Here is a great article about the audio tape of Coach Knight motivating his players against Purdue. No pressure was put on the team at all and no one knows who taped it. The comments are interesting by the players in that they state the tirades were common and may not have motivated as much as one would want. That is a problem when your main motivating factor is fear!

Samspon - A Coach Izzo perspective

Great blog and great insight into what a friend of Kelvin Sampson, Coach Tom Izzo of Michigan State is thinking right now.

It's an interesting thought that we should step back and look at the bigger picture.

IU to investigate Kelvin Sampson

According to the Indianapolis Star, IU will launch an investigation into the new NCAA allegations against Coach Sampson. If AD Greenspan decides to fire Coach Sampson, Samspon will have a 10 day appeal process. At that point, IU would have the choice of suspending Sampson. There will be a news conference tomorrow. Sampson will probably coach against Michigan State.

ESPN is reporting that Sampson's job status is game to game. ESPN is also having its college game day at IU on Saturday and will be broadcasting the IU game against MSU.

Is Dan Dakich ready to take over on an interim basis?????? Stay tuned.

Kelvin Sampson Update - He's Greenspan's coach

Rick Greenspan has declared that Kelvin Sampson is the IU Men's Basketball Coach for the foreseeable future, according to the Indianapolis Star.

These are major allegations against the program. A program that we pride as a winning and a clean one. It appears that Sampson may have mislead the school and the investigation.

How safe can Coach Sampson's job be? If it is safe, then how safe should Athletic Director Rick Greenspan's job be?

What are your thoughts?

The allegations

From the Indianapolis Star.

Not good.

New Indiana Mens Basketball Coach Scenario

Just some wild speculation and there is no substance to this but it is a crazy thought I had. What if this scenario plays out?

The NCAA report is bad. Sanctions are imminent. A post season ban for a couple of years is a strong possibility.

The IU Board of Trustees meet and decide to fire Coach Sampson.

A search board convenes.

They go to one source.

He has recently retired, unexpectedly.

Yes, you know where I'm going.

Could it be possible? The second coming for IU fans?

The new IU Mens Basketball Coach? Robert Montgomery Knight!

He is given an immediate two to three year contract to coach and guide the school through the sanctions. He is then given the opportunity to become AD or Assitant AD in charge of Basketball Operations.

Could it happen? I've seen crazier things! Do I support this? I don't know.

NCAA Report

According to ESPN.com and the Indianapolis Star, the NCAA has released their report on the allegations that Coach Sampson made illegal 3 way calls while coaching at IU. ESPN.com is also reporting that there are other major violations that could cloud this season and the future of Coach Sampson's career. Let's hope the storm is not as bad as the storm clouds look. ESPN is more dire than the Indianapolis Star report.

A post season ban would have to be self imposed. If that's the case, I'm glad I have Comcast and don't have to watch the Big Ten Network. I'm also really upset because this year has so much promise.

On another note, we lost AJ Ratliff. Good luck AJ and best wishes. We hope you get your life in order.

Indiana Basketball loses to Duke

I thought they played well even in the loss. Nothing to be ashamed about. Bob Kravitz agrees.

IU: Hoosiers use the 3 to beat FAMU

I was watching the game while doing other things. Ofcourse the team didn't look the same. Killingsworth was in foul trouble. IU had to rely upon Strickland and the others to shoot from the outside to win due to a lack of the inside game. Not bad scoring over 100 with the outside game.

Louisville Courrier does a nice job today.
