"While I think the majority of the IU populace has gotten over most aspects of (Knight's) firing, true healing, so to speak, won't occur until the program is restored to one of consistent quality and national prominence," said Mark Swearingen, an Indianapolis attorney who was a drummer in the IU basketball pep band for the 1994-95 season. "I don't think most people are still angry or sad about Knight's firing, but I do think that the poor results of the past few years has kept his firing in our minds to some degree."
To call this year a pivotal campaign is an understatement. Davis has probably the most talented team of his tenure. If he can't win with this group, he most likely will be fired for he will be exposed as a fruad of a coach. He's a nice guy, but he's yet to prove to me he can actually coach.
